“By the last day, you've changed so much you're almost a different person. This is a one-of-a-kind journey.” ── H.S, 2025

Concept

This is not tourism.
It is a pilgrimage back to
the self you've always longed to become.

Lay down every title and role of daily life. Here, in Nepal's sacred field of prayer, you return — quietly, deeply — as simply yourself.

Reclaiming your breath, listening to the body, laughing at times and weeping at others — this is a wandering journey that traces the long-forgotten memory asleep in your soul.

There is nothing to become, nothing to achieve. Setting aside all “doing” and “becoming,” it is a warm space simply for returning to the self that is here, now.

The energy of places where Nagarjuna, Padmasambhava and countless masters once meditated. And, with a guide of 27 years' practice, the time to simply sit. All of it is designed to resonate in your soul — a journey of reunion that everyone feels strangely nostalgic for.

Voices — 2025

Stories of Transformation — 2025

In November 2025, we held the very first Nepal Sacred Retreat. For each person who shared that time, it became a meaningful turning point. Here we share the quiet, profound transformations that took place — in their own words.

* These are the personal impressions of individual participants in 2025. They are not a promise of the same experience or outcome.

Interview — Tokuko

Tokuko Oikawa

FREELANCE ANNOUNCER / TRUTH THERAPIST

“So many people say ‘I'm just not good at meditation.’ But meditation isn't something you do — it's something that happens. Through the body, the voice, movement, it truly transforms. I want the people who think they're bad at it to experience this journey most of all.”

“It was so safe and reassuring — everything was wonderful. Alone it would have been frightening, but with the Prince there, I could truly let go and travel.”

Mayumi “Puri” Sakamoto

YOGA TEACHER / HEALER-THERAPIST

“A friend who has since passed away once invited me — ‘Let's go to Nepal together’ — but back then I couldn't. Now, at last, I've reached the Nepal of that unkept promise — walking around Boudhanath, I nearly wept, the memories beside me.”

“When I raised my voice in the great purification rite, I noticed its very resonance had changed — I felt, without a doubt, that my body's frequency had shifted.”

“Meditating in Lumbini, I realized — ‘Ah, a wind has always been blowing within me.’”

MAN IN HIS 40s / SEEKING A NEW PATH

“I'd kept up my own practice, but I always had this thirst — ‘I want to reach the next step.’ The time in Nepal opened exactly that.”

“The energy I felt at Shechen Monastery was itself ‘love’ — and to me, that felt like the true face of the divine.”

“I completed the journey without leaning on anything external. To rest in myself without outside stimulation — a first for me, and a deep source of confidence.”

These are not experiences reserved for someone special.
They are the quiet, certain shifts that ordinary people, living ordinary lives, moved through over 7 to 14 days.

Sacred Sites

The places we visit are like inner mirrors,
alive with sacred resonance.

The sacred sites scattered across Nepal are far more than tourist landmarks. Each place holds a field of resonance, where prayer and silence have gathered since ancient times.

Rather than touring the sacred sites, we are called by them — and we sit. Using Shechen Monastery, founded by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, teacher to the Dalai Lama, as our base —

the Stupa of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

The Boudha-district monastery that serves as our base camp — a place where the deep breath of Tibetan Buddhism still lives. At Rinpoche's place of prayer there is a resonance that every 2025 participant described as “being wrapped in a warm energy of love.”

A private meditation house,

Our home for each morning's Shirakawa-Hakuō purification, active meditation, and sharing. Not a journey that tours the sacred, but one that lives within it. The room itself holds an energy and density rare even in Nepal.

“This place we returned to every day was beyond anything I'd imagined.” ── Emi Mori

03 — Boudhanath Stupa

The Great Stupa of Boudhanath

One of Nepal's greatest Tibetan Buddhist sites, where ancient mantras dance on the wind. Walking the kora (circumambulation) at dusk alongside pilgrims is an experience where time stands still.

“As I walked, the tears wouldn't stop. I'd finally reached the place of that unkept promise.” ── Puri

Pashupatinath

Nepal's foremost Hindu sanctuary — the cremation ghats and currents of prayer along the Bagmati River. Where life and death sit side by side, it is a time to quietly face what we usually keep at a distance.

05 — Asura Cave, Pharping

Asura Cave, where Padmasambhava
meditated (Pharping)

The cave where Padmasambhava, founder of Tibetan Buddhism, is said to have meditated — a place where the guru's energy still lives, beyond space and time. We also visit the surrounding Tibetan monasteries for time in meditation and prayer.

Lumbini ── Birthplace of the Buddha

The earth where the seed of awakening was sown — one of the four great sites of Buddhism. In 2025, participants experienced a shift here: “coming to know the Buddha not through words, but through the body.”* Visited on the 14-day and 10-day plans

Experiences

What you'll experience on the journey

Not about trying hard, nor becoming someone special. These are practices for letting go of doing, forgetting becoming, and simply returning to the blank, present you.

●Morning Shirakawa-Hakuō Shinto purification

Each day begins by voicing the ancient Japanese words of purification.

“The way my voice resonated changed day by day.” ── 2025 participant

●Active meditation (Chakra Breathing & more)

Before sitting, move the body. Shake. Make sound. Once all excess is released, enter the silence. An approach that turns meditation from something you strive at into something that happens on its own.

●Sitting in silence at the sacred sites

At each sacred site, time to simply sit in silence. Surrendering to the energy of the place, you meet your own inner depths.

●Dzogchen Guru Yoga (Tibetan Buddhism)

An esoteric practice of becoming one with the energy and presence of buddhas and masters who attained luminous, cosmic awareness.

●Tibetan medicine bodywork

Through Kunye (Tibetan massage) and Hor-me (heat therapy), experience purification and care from the deepest levels of the body.

●Sharing & conversation

Time to put each day's experience into words with companions. In speaking, insight settles and experience becomes integrated.

NIRVANA LAB / 27 YEARS OF PRACTICE

Twenty-seven years since I first met meditation. Osho's active meditations, Dzogchen Guru Yoga, Shirakawa-Hakuō purification, Zen, Kriya Yoga — crossing every sectarian boundary, simply out of love, I have walked the world's meditations and sacred places.

I've traveled to Nepal more than ten times. Deeply familiar with the country and drawing on years of leading meditation gatherings and retreats, I lead the meditation practice and guide you at the sacred sites. I do not book, broker, advance payment for, or collect money for flights, lodging or local transport on your behalf.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1I'm a complete beginner at meditation — can I join?
Absolutely — you're more than welcome. This journey isn't about getting “good” at meditation; it cherishes simply returning to yourself. In 2025, beginners and people who felt they were “bad at meditation” naturally entered deep states through approaches of body, voice, and movement.

“Meditation isn't something you do — it's something that happens.” ── Tokuko Oikawa

Q2What if I can't speak English or Nepali?
No problem at all. The meditation sessions and sacred-site guidance are led by the Meditation Prince. You book and contract your own lodging, transport and meals, but if difficulties arise on the ground we will help with language and information as far as we reasonably can.
Q3Is it okay to come on my own?
Most people come alone. Those who gather often find themselves connected by a curiously deep affinity, and you can enjoy the journey and meditation at your own pace, with ease.
Q4Do I have to take part in religious activities?
This journey is unaffiliated with any religious organization, and there is no required faith or obligatory participation. Temple rites and monastery prayers can be received simply as “experiencing the resonance of a place,” on your own free terms.
Q5Is Nepal safe?
The Meditation Prince has traveled to Nepal more than ten times and keeps the retreat within a comfortable range while checking local conditions. That said, overseas travel always carries uncertainties of security, weather and health. Please check your own government's latest travel advice before departure. We travel under the care of a guide deeply familiar with the country and a full support system, with staff fluent in Japanese and Nepali alongside us.

“It was so safe and reassuring — everything was wonderful.” ── Tokuko Oikawa

Q6I'm worried the food won't agree with me.
Much of Nepali cuisine suits the Japanese palate well, at around ¥300–600 a meal. We can share general information about where to eat if you need it. A packing list including digestive aids, just in case, is provided once your participation is confirmed.
Q7I'm not confident in my fitness — will I be okay?
There is no long-distance trekking or strenuous activity. However, stays and travel at high altitude may occur, so if you have any concerns about your health, please consult your doctor before joining.
Q8Is there a required packing list or dress code?
We recommend comfortable, loose clothing you can move in. Mornings and evenings are cold this season, so layered, easily adjustable gear is reassuring. A detailed packing list (handy items, digestive aids, plug adapters, etc.) is provided once participation is confirmed.
Q9Is there support after I return home?
Yes. After the retreat, 12 companion meditation sessions over 3 months (weekly) help you integrate the journey's transformation into daily life. From 2026 there's also a participants-only community, where you can nurture lasting bonds with companions who share the journey's afterglow.

This journey is for you if —

  • ○You long for quiet time to face yourself
  • ○You want to step away from “doing” and “becoming” and simply “return”
  • ○You're at a moment of spiritual or energetic purification and renewal
  • ○You're drawn to felt experience in a land full of nature, prayer, and meditation
  • ○You wish to connect, through meditation, with your essence and the voice of your soul
  • ○You're at a turning point or threshold in life
  • ○You're a busy professional whose mind won't stop spinning
  • ○You want to move into the next chapter after a hard experience (disaster, loss, career change, parting)

This may not be for you if —

  • ×You'd rather rely on others' opinions than look within
  • ×You always seek “results” and “efficiency,” even while traveling
  • ×You want to stay active on a packed schedule
  • ×You picture a trip touring many sightseeing spots

One Last Thing

One last thing —

If something on this page made your heart pause — perhaps it's because your soul already remembers this journey. Take one deep breath. The door to the journey is already, quietly, open.

“I reached the Nepal of the promise I couldn't keep with a friend who has passed — walking around Boudhanath, I nearly wept, the memories beside me.” ── Puri, 2025

Perhaps you, too, have a journey you've thought of as “someday.” That someday may just be November 2026.
